Preseason Power Rankings in German Football: 2. Bundesliga and 3. Liga

As a part of my dive into European football following the World Cup, I’ve decided to cover the German Pyramid, as well as the English one. The transfer window is still open, so many of these power rankings are going to be fluid over the coming weeks, but with the season starting tomorrow for 2. Bundesliga and 3. Liga, I wanted to go ahead and get my initial rankings out. In future editions, when we have some games to go off of and finished rosters outside of a transfer window, I’ll go in depth on each team, but for now I just want to get my initial thoughts on paper.

I tried to find a blend between weighing last seasons results, total budget, and roster changes, but if anything I’m probably skewed too much towards last season’s results at the moment.
